HISTORY OF NUMEROLOGY

>> Saturday, October 23, 2010

Although numerology has been around for millennium, its true origins
remain a mystery. Thousands of years ago, early civilisations in Egypt and
Babylon both recognized the power of numbers. It‘s quite possible that
numerology has been in existence since the human race learned to count.
Numerology is the study of numbers as it relates to aptitudes and
character tendencies. Each letter of the alphabet has a numeric value or
frequency that relates to it‘s vibration. The sum of the numbers in your
birth date and the sum of the value derived from the letters in your name,
provide a road map of vibrations.
Numerology expresses a great deal about a person‘s character, purpose in
life, motivations, career, romantic characteristics, luck and talents.
Numerology experts use the numbers to determine the best time for
major activities in one‘s life. Numerology has been used for investment
forecasting, marriage counselling, travel advice, career consulting, and
even relocation advice.
Pythagoras of Samos, the Greek mathematician and philosopher, (569-
470 B.C.), is believed to be the developer of today‘s numerology system.
The actual origins of numerology predate Pythagoras and are believed to
have originated from the Chaldean system. The Chaldean system had its
roots in ancient Babylon, which had its roots in the Vedic systems of India
and the Kabbalah systems of the ancient Hebrew mystics. Whoever or
whatever founded the system of numerology, it still exists today.
